About Department
The department was established in 1997 to give professional degree in
biotechnology with a aim to provide education to able students in the range of
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. Biotechnology is a multi-disciplinary course
and various program have been developed to meet the growing demand for trained
manpower to carry out meaningful biotechnology activity in the country. The
programme is designed to expose the students to recent exciting developments in
the area of Biotechnology/ Bioscience/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics and their
application in industry, agriculture and medicine.

|
- Many students are scientists in reputed council (CSIR, ICMR, DRDO, ICAR). More than 90 students have qualified CSIR-NET, ICMR-JRF, ASRB-NET.
- More than 40 Research papers, 7 chapters in books and 4 Review papers have been published in national and international Journals of repute.
- One novel dye degrading bacteria is discovered for Waste Water treatment
- 16s rRNA gene sequence has been submitted in NCBI Gene Bank: Pseudomonas geniculata NSDSUAM.
